A contemporary home designed and built on a small block and featured the use of Tasmanian sandstone, cream brick and zinc cladding as the main building materials. The Tasmanian sandstone carries through the home internally and is complimented by the use of blackbutt timber flooring. Double glazed, high efficiency windows and a central thermal mass spine wall to moderate temperature within the house are a key to this design. The use of Geothermal air conditioning, photovoltaic panels, solar hot water service, grey water recycling, stormwater reuse and motorised blinds to shade exposed sections of wall elevations makes this an extremely energy efficient house. This project was built to exacting detail, was constructed within the clients time and budget expectations.
